THE Oxford Blue pub at Crimp Hill, Old Windsor is back in action under the care of its chef proprietor Steven Ellis after a major refurbishment.
Mr Ellis acquired the pub in 2015 and intends to make it a top dining attraction as well as popular pub again.
He has worked at Jamie Oliver's Fifteen and at the Michelin starred Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, where he first crossed paths with his general manager at the Oxford Blue Daniel Crump.
Mr Crump's wife Margriet Vandezande-Crump is the Restaurant Manager at Oxford Blue - she is also a veteran of Restaurant Gordon Ramsay.
The pub dates back to the 1800’s. Originally two game keepers cottages, it was then converted into a traditional inn and has served the local community ever since.
Mr Ellis promises home grown food with herbs and edible flowers straight from the Oxford Blue's own gardens.
His partner Ami Blakey - who he met when they both worked at the award winning gastro pub the Star Inn - is in charge of the pastry. She is another veteran of the Restaurant Gordon Ramsay.
A new outdoor dining terrace has been added to the premises.
