YOUNGSTERS have been given an expert's tour of an historic building.

The 12th Windsor Scouts visited the Guildhall, in High Street, Windsor on Friday, February 1 to help earn their community badge and were hosted by the mayor Councillor Colin Rayner, mayoress Councillor Samanthna Rayner, Amelia Evans from the Windsor and Royal Borough museum and the Royal Borough town crier and museum volunteer Chris Brown.

The scouts were given a tour of the building and a history lesson on the mayoral office as well as visiting the adjoining museum and holding a mock council meeting in the chamber hall.

David Shaw, scouter-in-charge, said: "It was a great evening and the mayor was very supportive." Cllr Rayner, a former sea scout, also arranged a game in the council chamber for the Scouts based on the parts of a ship.
