Making his pantomime debut, Lee Ryan is to star in the gigantic family pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk at the Beck Theatre, Hayes this Christmas.

In 2001 Lee joined the BRIT award-winning boyband Blue who have sold over 14 million records worldwide, releasing five critically acclaimed studio albums and headlined several UK tours. In 2005 Blue took a brief break, which allowed Lee the opportunity to release his self-titled debut album and first single ‘Army of Lovers’ which debuted at number 3 in the UK charts.

In 2011, and to coincide with their tenth year in the music industry, Blue reformed and represented the United Kingdom in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest with their entry I Can. In 2013 Blue were a featured addition to the ITV2 reality television show The Big Reunion, which culminated in a sold out performance at the Hammersmith Apollo, which was also broadcast on television and released on DVD.

Having released their sixth album Colours this year Blue are touring the UK on their Colour of Blue tour. Most recently, Blue also performed in the Party to Remember concert for the 70th VE day anniversary commemorations in front of Her Majesty the Queen and members of the royal family.

Daryl Back, executive producer of the pantomime, said: “We are thrilled that Lee will be starring as our hero Jack this Christmas and that audiences will get to hear his phenomenal voice. It promises to be a giant of a show, full of laughs, music and magic that can’t be missed.” Louise Clifford, Theatre director at the Beck Theatre, said: “With Lee Ryan at the top of this year’s bill, and ticket sales already ahead of last year, we know that we’re going to have another giant pantomime success on our hands.
