Cambridge Touring Theatre is throwing down a challenge with this year’s production for families.

The story is ‘Robin Hood the Musical’ – and your family can follow his greenwood adventures at a number of open air venues between June and August.

Voted one of the top 10 events to do in the summer by The Guardian the storyline will be faithful to its origins but decorated sufficiently to keep a young audience fully involved.

The tour will be visiting Berkshire when it comes to Mapledurham House, near Reading, on August 12.

Before some performances, Cambridge Touring Theatre offers a 45 minute drama workshop for children aged 5-10. Here children can be introduced to the characters from the story and work on themed drama activities, songs and games. Please check the venue’s website for more information and availability of the workshops.

Cambridge Touring Theatre was founded in 2000 by Rosie Humphreys. After working for the English National Opera in London, this dedicated producer moved to Cambridge and established the company which has been successfully touring ever since.

The only touring theatre company in the UK that specialises in creating outdoor shows for children and families, Cambridge Touring Theatre pride themselves on the quality of their productions, all of which include original script and score, elaborate sets, colourful costumes and performers of the highest calibre.
