THE M25 MOTORWAY, THE M4 MOTORWAY AND THE M40 MOTORWAY (M25 JUNCTIONS 15 AND 16) TEMPORARY OVERNIGHT TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited(a) has made an Order on the M25 Motorway, the M4 Motorway and the M40 Motorway, in the County of Buckinghamshire, the London Borough of Hillingdon and the Unitary Authority of Slough, under section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order will be -
(1) to authorise the overnight closure of the following link roads -

(a) at M25 Junction 16 (M40), the roads leading to and from both carriageways of the M25 to the M40; and

(b) the roads leading to and from both carriageways of the M25 to the M4;

and
(2) to impose an overnight temporary mandatory 50mph speed restriction on the link roads at M25 Junction 15 and 16 and to authorise overnight use of the hard shoulder adjacent to these link roads when this is being used as one lane of these roads.

These measures will be in the interests of road safety to enable contractors to undertake cyclical maintenance.
It is expected that the work will take place for approximately 2 nights for each link road every three months on-
Monday - Thursday nights - 22:00 to 05:30 Friday nights - 23:00 to 06:00 Saturday nights - 22:00 to 06:00
Sunday nights - 22:30 to 05:30
The Order will come into force on 7 February 2017 and have a maximum duration of twelve months. During the closures outlined above, traffic affected will be diverted via other junctions of the M25, M40 and M4. The diversion routes will vary depending on the closure in place. The link road closures, temporary mandatory speed restriction, use of the hard shoulder and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works periods.
