BERKSHIRE rock band Neverify had a whirlwind year in 2010 and are hoping to make this year bigger and better than ever.

When they last spoke to The Guide the four-piece band were preparing to launch their EP Species at The Butler pub in Reading, and looking back they are incredibly impressed with how it all went.

Bassest Joe Kusionowicz said: "We've never seen so many people in The Butler at a gig. One guy who came down couldn't even get through the door. That was brilliant and we've had a great response from that.

"We even had one person buy our EP in Florida. We have no idea who it was, but we've broken the international border by one person. I guess you have to start somewhere."

The band formed in December 2008 and is made up of Reading-based Joe, singer Dan Bignell who lives in Reading but spent a lot of his life in Kenya, guitarist Tim Spurr, from Maidenhead, and drummer Gavin Locke who lives in Wargrave. Joe said they are proud of the diverse background of the group as they bring different influences, and that is something they are looking to continue.

He added: "We are going into the studio on February 25 to record two singles with Mark Evans, who has worked with Elton John, Status Quo and Girls Aloud. So, it's a bit different to what we're used to but it's nice to make something a bit less stale and a bit more original."

Neverify are planning to spend the first few months of 2011 playing gigs in London and writing new material, with the hope of playing some festivals in the summer after their headline slot on The Palace Stage at Guilfest last year.
