NOT in a while has there been a band who make blues as feel good as the Phil Astles Band do.
The three-piece band, made up of frontman Phil Astles, bass player Osian Owens and drummer Noel Wood, had audiences tapping along at an intimate gig at Jagz in Ascot on Thursday, July 22.
The band started the show with a jaw-dropping performance of Albert King's Funky London, before launching into a two-hour set, featuring songs from Freddie King BB King, Jimmy Vaughn and even Jimmy Hendrix.
The band looked confident onstage and their obvious enjoyment heightened the performance. They admired each other's performances, with Osian and Noel looking genuinely impressed by Phil's talented improvisation on the guitar.
Phil even serenaded the others with songs about Noel's 'Clean Head' and Osian being a 'gigolo'.
The Phil Astles Band are definitely ones to watch on the blues circuit.
