BUDDING singers in Woodley need look no further than The Thatcher's Pub, where choirmaster Stu Murphy is running a brand-new choir for anyone keen to sing. The indie-rock choir meets every Monday evening from 8-10pm, and each session costs £5. Just turn up on the night and get involved!
THE Watermill Theatre, Newbury will be bringing its touring production of "Love on the Tracks" to the Rose Theatre at St Mary's School, Ascot on Tuesday. The light-hearted and funny play, inspired by short stories of the Russian writer, Anton Chekhov, has been written by Richard Attlee, famous as playing Kenton in Radio 4's The Archers. MELODIES + Memories is a new night at Milk Bar, Reading, run by DJ Ralph Solly. On the last Sunday of the month, invited promoters, DJ's, musicians and other special guests are invited to play their most influential record or first vinyl album. The rules are strict. No talking, no calls, no texting, no Facebook, no Twitter. The idea is to listen to every song on the album and absorb the music. Ralph says that his aim is to "Keep vinyl alive".
YOU'd better shape up, because Sing-Along-A-Grease is revving it's way to the Theatre Royal, Windsor, on Sunday, May 13 at 7.30pm. FAST-RISING bluegrass stars The Toy Hearts are bringing their family affair to Arlington Arts Centre on Saturday. Sisters Hannah and Sophia and dad Stewart hail from Birimingham, and have been playing music together since the girls were tiny. Their close relationship lends itself to the blues, bluegrass, western swing and gypsy jazz, as Sophia and Hannah show a committed love for that 'high lonesome sound', and the band have supported both Imelda May and Robert Plant.
