HERE'S BENN: Firestation Art Centre's Benn Cody

Happy 2012! I hope you all had a fantastic festive period and that you saw in the New Year in style! And with January nearly over (along with the January blues!), The Firestation has plenty to offer you over the coming weeks to help you stay entertained throughout the beginning of the year. With everything from comedy to cabaret and burlesque, and cinema to workshops and classes, there really is something for everyone in our packed Spring season!

We know that the recession means your money won't stretch as far as you'd like, which is why we have a selection of FREE events to keep you going! We continue our monthly Lie Back And Think Of... series with DJ Shadow's classic crossover album, Endtroducing, next week. Played loud and uninterrupted for your pleasure, accompanied by theatrical lighting and effects, there is no better way to kick back and enjoy an album! If you're more of the 'doer', we also have Hitchin's Lab, our monthly open mic night, offering you the opportunity to try out new songs, comedy, poems and, well, anything you'd like!

We're also offering the best in music in February with visits from Mark Hole, The Indicators and Windsor's Got Talent winners, Mercia. Our music nights are like no other and offer you the chance to be rockin' out just feet away from

the acts!

Next week also sees the arrival of Joe Black with his show, Vile Volumes, and I personally cannot wait! Dubbed 'the king of cabaret noir' by the Metro and with a burlesque support act in the shape of Vie O'lette, this is an evening of dark humour where the gin flows free; definitely not

to be missed.

All this, as well as our weekly Kids Club Cinema - only £1 on the door with an Advantage card - plus there's a special 'Big Screen Screening' of Four Weddings And A Funeral as our Valentines gift to you!

With even busier months ahead, both for you and us, what better way to escape the chaos than a visit to The Firestation?

I look forward to seeing you at an event soon!

Call 01753 866865 or visit www.firestationartscentre.com to book tickets for events.
