A GUITARIST from Reading who has trained top session and live musicians is unleashing his knowledge on the world with a new book.

Phil Braithwaite, 26, began learning guitar at 15, and rocketed to success teaching guitarists who have played with Stevie Wonder, Tom Jones, One Direction and Cee Lo Green, as well as doing high-profile session work himself. Now he is keen to share the knowledge he spent years gathering with aspiring musicians.

"There's so much stuff in guitar, new theories and things, that's not written about, and I want to be the one to release those secrets to people," Phil told The Guide. "These are things that when I was growing up I wanted to find out and in the end I had to work it out myself which is a long, hard route. Now I want to share it with everyone. It is not for me to keep it to myself."

The first in Phil's series of books, Adventurous Open Chords For The Creative Guitarist, is out now via PAW Music Publishing.

CONTROVERSIAL political theatre is set to grip audiences when Adolf comes to Arlington Arts Centre on Saturday, February 4.

Set in Hitler's bunker in 1945, and written off the back of Mein Kampf and Table Talk, this play delves into the sinister mind of one of the most evil men the world has ever seen. But it's no ordinary portrayal, as Adolf is set to explore the mindset of the people who joined the Nazi regime and make audiences consider what made ordinary people turn their backs on their communities.

READING Phoenix Choir will set Reading's concert hall alight with their Annual Gala Concert.

From Handel to Abba, these chirpy 2010 Choir Of The Year finalists will be joined by The Paul Jordanous Jazz Quintet, which has toured with the likes of Glenn Miller Orchestra and Sir Joe Quarterman, for an evening of choral music and classical jazz, plus the chance to witness the two combining their talents for a special number.

DON'T be a square and get out to see the Triangle Players perform their annual panto, Aladdin And His Wonderful Lamp.

The amateur dramatics group will transform the Methodist Church, School Road, Tilehurst, into Aladdins' cave to wow audiences for 4 nights only.
