NEW signing Jerome Anderson was made to wait for his Slough Town debut on Saturday as the entire Southern Football League roster was frozen off.

The Rebels were due to welcome Division One strugglers North Greenford United but the fixture was lost to frozen conditions at Holloways Park.

Manager Steve Bateman made the move to sign the 23-year-old in order to bolster his striking options, despite Danny Burnell and Sean Sonner netting 29 times between them thus far.

Anderson was recently released by Southern Premier outfit Hitchin Town due to the club's cost cutting measures.

He started his career by graduating from Oxford United's youth system before signing for Stevenage Borough following impressive pre-season trials.

He has also had spells with Brackley Town, Maidenhead United and Oxford City.

Beaconsfield's trip to Chalfont St. Peter and Burnham's visit to Chertsey Town were lost to frozen conditions.

The poor weather also cost Windsor FC any progress in their quest for the Combined Counties Premier Division after the fledgling club's trip to Horley Town was postponed.

Derek Sweetman's Holyport knew their fate on Friday after an early decision was made to call off all Hellenic League action.

Reading made the 360 mile round trip to Doncaster Rovers only for their Npower Championship fixture to be postponed despite reassurance from the hosts on Friday that it would go ahead.
