10:29pm

WINDSOR FC have progressed into the semi-finals of the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy after an extra-time 2-1 victory over current holders Newport Pagnell Town at Stag Meadow.

Robert Lazarzcuk fired Windsor into a third minute lead with a stunning 30-yard strike but the remainder of the first-half was very much a drab affair.

Scott Mulkern restored parity shortly after the interval and Newport pressed for the remainder of the half without producing another real effort on goal.

The 90-minutes finished in an end to end fashion and extra time began in the same manner.

Windsor's superior fitness began to tel when Ryan O'toole fired past McAdoo for the ties final goal.

Both sides pressed for a final goal but it is Windsor who will meet Abingdon United in the semi-finals.

A tie that improved the longer it went on was marred by some appalling late challenges by the visitors that resulted in them finishing with 10-men.

11 minutes left!

10:01pm

14 minutes into extra-time Ryan O'Toole puts Windsor back in front with a perfectly placed effort into the bottom right hand corner of McAdoo's goal from the edge of the box.

9:47pm first half of injury time begins.

A much improved second-half came to life early on when Scott Mulkern beat Rob Bullivant at the far post with a smart finish to level the scores.

Newport dominated after without producing a second while Chenells and Romeo both had chances to snatch the tie late on.

The game became end-to-end and somewhat scrappy as full-time approached as now the small attendance await injury-time.

0:20pm

Newport's Richard Armstrong shots straight at Bullivant as the visitors continue to camp their hosts in their own half since restoring parity.

Great to hear BBC Commentator Barry Davies encouraging the home side from the stands, looking in great health too I might add.

Newport's equaliser appears to have rattled their hosts and forced them into playing a more direct long ball style.

As Windsor miss the chance to clear their lines Mulkern is picked out un-marked at the back post to slot neatly past Bullivant.

8:54pm Second-half kick-off

Ryan Ashe replacing Jake Parsons at the start of the second-half

HALF-TIME

Robert Lazarczuk's spectacular 30-yard strike in just the third minute seperates the sides in what has been an un-inspiring quarter-final tie at half-time.

Windsor grew in confidence as the half went on with Matt Broomes looking Newport's biggest danger, heading against the bar midway through the period.

8:16pm

Very quite at Stag Meadow so far. My mind is already on the half-time biscuits.

8:14pm

Lazarczuk is booked for diving when it appeared he brought down 20-yards from goal.

8:12pm

Chennells volleys Ellis' long throw high and wide from the edge of the six-yard box.

8:09pm

Yet another referee who wants to be the star of the show this evening, stop-start-stop-start!

8:07pm

Mid-way through the opening period and Lazarzcuk's moment of brilliance aside, it has been a drab affair so far.

8:01pm

Newport sub.

The visitors forced into making an early sub with Dave Baker replacing Matt Broomes who is being carried off the pitch after an accidental collision with Bullivant.

7:58pm

Lazarczuk's un-savable early strike does not seem to have settled the hosts in an even opening half as Scott Mulkern drills a Newport free-kick into the wall and Dom Lawless fires across Bullivant's goal after the stopper failed to get a full punch on a cross from the right.

Windsor manager Keith Scott has handed a start to Ben Harris ahead of Joe Chandiram who drops to the bench as the sides come out, Windsor in all red and Newport sporting an entire sky blue strip.

Extra time and penalties will be played should the tie be level this evening.

7:30pm Danger men!

Windsor's star strikers Ryan O'Toole and Michael Chennells should have the ability to make an impact in tonight's game while teenager Rob Lazarczuk will look to make an impact as the third man in attack for the hosts.

7:37pm team news

Windsor FC's Andrew Fagan misses tonight's game through injury but is expected to be fit for Saturday's return to league action while new-signing Adam Dickens from Burnham is ineligible for this competition.

7:34pm

Both teams go through their pre-match routines across a Stag Meadow pitch that looks in immaculate condition under the artificial lights that, thankfully for the small crowd, have fired up without a problem this evening.

7:29pm team news

Two strong starting line-ups for tonight's quarter-final tie with Fergus Moore and Robert Lazarczuk the only changes from the side that started Saturday's 2-2 with Hanworth Villa.

Ben Harris and George Gould have been re-called from their loan spells at Bracknell Town to sit on the bench.

Yashwa Romeo and Ben Porter all make the bench despite struggling with minor injuries.

Newport, as expected, have brought a strong starting 11 to Stag Meadow that includes Dom Marsala who started the season with Southern Division One Central leaders Slough Town.

Windsor FC welcome Newport Pagnell Town back to Stag Meadow this evening with a place in the last four of the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy up for grabs.

The original quarter-final tie was abandoned right on kick-off due to a frozen pitch on January 16, much to the frustration of the visitors who set off from their Milton Keynes home in late-afternoon.

But their will no concerns over the dropping temperatures tonight when an anticipated weakened Windsor side welcome Newport, winners of the Trophy for the past two seasons.

Fergus Moore, Ryan Ashe, Robert Lazarczuk and new-signing Adam Dickens are all expected to be promoted to the first 11 after starting Saturday's 2-2 draw with Hanworth Villa from the bench.

Back-up Goalkeeper Mark Banfry remains sidelined with a finger injury while Ben Porter continues to battle with a hamstring problem and is unlikely to feature.

Newport brought a considerably weakened side down to Berkshire last week but may prove stronger this time having been knocked out of the FA Vase on Saturday after a 3-2 defeat against Ashington AFC in front of a crowd of 664.

Abingdon Town await the winners of tonight's tie in the semi-finals while Binfield will travel to either Wantage Town or Holyport FC in the other tie.
