MICK WOODHAM believes that a point was a fair result as Windsor drew 2-2 with North Greenford United on Saturday.

Robert Lazarczuk came closest to breaking the deadlock early on at Stag Meadow. He spotted North Greenford keeper James Henry off his line and unleashed a long range strike that came back off the crossbar.

Greenford took the lead against the run of play in the 39th minute when, from a wide position out on the right, Anthony O’Connor fired in a sublime left-foot shot that looped over Hugo Sobte and into the top left-hand corner.

Into the second half and the home team scored twice to lead 2-1 before the hour, two headed goals.

The first a point-back Keiran Knight header from a free-kick on 50 minutes and the second a clinical near post finish from the captain in the 58th minute.

The visitors levelled the scores at 2-2 when a penalty was awarded on 83 minutes following a foul on Sandro Costa. North Greenford captain Daniel Vincent made no mistake with a firmly struck spot kick.

“There wasn’t much between the two sides to be fair, hardly anything,” Woodham told the Observer.

“We went in at half-time having conceded a poor goal. We were a little bit disappointed with the score so made a couple of changes to give us the energy that we had at Badshot Lea the week before.

"That got us back in the game with a 2-1 lead, so credit to Gus Bowles and Taufee Skandari. They done their jobs, got the ball into the box and Keiran did what he does best.

"We then conceded a penalty and it could have been avoided had we been a bit smarter. It should not have got that far and was a bit sloppy on our part.

“I thought we were comfortable but we had to settle for a draw and a point, and it was probably a fair result.

“We didn’t go a great deal in the first half, neither did they to be fair. We cancelled each other out.

"I thought we were good value for 30 minutes of the second half, but the result was probably fair for the remainder.”
