DAVE Pearce is fired up and looking forward to trying to impress for Windsor & Eton this season.
The young midfielder showed glimpses of what he could do last season after joining from Wycombe Wanderers and is looking to show the fans what he can do in the Southern Premier Division.
Manager Dave Mudge commented: “The exceptional form of Dave Pearce has been great. He’s embraced what we are trying to do at the football club.
“We’ve renegotiated his contract, he’s happy with that and we are happy as well.
“We see him as a big part and as a huge player who will help us progress this club. I think he was maybe left on the outside last year but this is a different year.”
Pearce remarked: “I’m quite happy, it’s all going well and I’m enjoying it at the moment.
“Dave has given me more of an opportunity and he just says go out there and enjoy yourself.
“I learned a lot last year under Keith Scott, he introduced me to senior football and winning the league helped and I’m sure I can continue to learn.
“I cannot wait to get started, pre-season is good but you just want to get out there and get started.”
Windsor start on Saturday at Tiverton and Pearce is confident that they can do well this season.
He said: “I think we will do alright this year, I’m quietly confident, the players we’ve brought in are useful and I think we will avoid relegation.
“Maybe mid-table and go from there, we have a lot of pace up front and if Michael Chennells stays that would be good for us but we will see.
“We all wish him the best and want him to make it. I spoke to him last (Wednesday) night and he says he’s enjoying training but he’s not sure he will get a contract with the strikers they’ve signed.”
