PROLIFIC non-league striker Michael Chennells has recently taken up the offer to trial with Brentford Football Club.
The 24-year-old Windsor & Eton ace trained with the League One club before playing a part in their 1-1 pre-season draw with Crystal Palace last weekend.
Windsor manager Dave Mudge said: "It all started to happen Tuesday or Wednesday last week. I received phone calls from Brentford's chief executive and manager (Adam Scott) asking if they could invite Michael to train with them.
"I went to watch them play in the friendly against Crystal Palace and Michael did very well for the 25 minutes he was on the pitch. He has been invited back to train with them on Monday and Tuesday next week."
Chennells has currently netted 110 goals for the Royalists since his arrival in 2006, including 31 strikes during last year's Southern League Division One South & West title win.
Mudge added: "There has been no concrete offer as of yet but I think it will go either way in the next few days. He is contracted to Windsor so the club is secure and their would be a fee involved. Lets see if he is offered terms.
"It is quite unusual if you are there on trial for four to five days. Normally you're just in and out. I must say that Brentford have conducted themselves very well throughout."
Bee's manager Andy Scott told NonLeagueDaily.com: "He (Chennells) has been playing at a lower level but we've got a good record of bringing young players from non-league through.
"He's contracted to Windsor and we're grateful they've allowed him to come here and train. He's performed well and we'll monitor him.
"He's at university at the moment so we have to take that into consideration as well."
On Thursday afternoon Brentford did bolster their attack as they confirmed the signing of striker Gary Alexander from Millwall.
The 30-year-old has signed a two year deal with the 'Bees' just two days before they kick off their 2010/11 League One campaign at Carlisle United.
Scott told the club's website: "I`m delighted to get him to Griffin Park as he has proved to have a good goal scoring record throughout his career and is someone who has enjoyed success at this level.
"I am also confident he will fit in with the way we play and will give us the goals we need in our pursuit of improving still further on last season."
Elsewhere, Mudge believes new arrivals can be expected at Stag Meadow before the Southern Premier campaign.
He said: "We played a couple of triallists over the weekend who have agreed to sign. We are just waiting for the deals to come together."
