KEITH Scott has expressed his disappointment that Windsor & Eton are not in the Ryman Premier League but he believes they can cope in step three.

The Royalists had applied to go into the Ryman League after claiming the Southern League Division One South & West title and were welcome there. However, the FA deemed it more appropriate that they stay in the Southern League.

Scott commented: "I think the Ryman League would have been more favourable. The main reason being, from our point of view we would have had more crowds.

"A lot of clubs would have brought more fans and I think teams would have played more football which would have suited us.

"But the Southern League is the one we are in and we have to deal with it.

"I think we can compete in that league, the squad we had last year proved we can compete at that level against Farnborough and Evesham.

"They are still a young side that can play but they have achieved a lot already."

The Windsor boss is confident that his side can compete next year but is also concerned that some of his better players may well be targets for clubs higher up the pyramid and even in league football.

Scott said: "I've gone on record already saying Michael Chennels can play league football and stand by that, there are a number of others that can play at a higher level too.

"You take Andrew Fagan, Bruce Wilson and Jake Parsons, what will happen is that other clubs will look at them next season to see how they do and if they can perform at a higher level, which I know they can, then the predators might make their move.

"Windsor have got some very, very good youngsters in the team."
