Michael Chennells hit the winner against Uxbridge.

WINDSOR & Eton's Southern League Division One South & West title hopes took a massive dent on Tuesday evening when they suffered a 2-0 loss Bishops Cleeve but they have since bounced back.

As the Royalists were stunned in the west country, AFC Totton beat Hungerford Town 3-1 to open up a five point gap at the top.

However Windsor cut the gap to two points on Thursday night with a 1-0 win at Uxbridge thanks to Michael Chennells' third minute goal and they still have a game in hand.

Bishops Cleeve beat Windsor thanks to goals from Tim Haddock in the 29th minute and James Vercesi midway through the second half but Keith Scott still remains upbeat.

He said: "I'm disappointed with the result but not the performance at all.

"We had 10 to 15 chances but couldn't score - that's football, it's all about putting the ball in the back of the net.

"The performance was fantastic, on another day it could have been five or six without doubt."

Hounours were even a t the summit of the South & West Division on Saturday as Windsor & Eton drew 0-0 at AFC Totton on Saturday.

However, the valuable point gained by the Royalists was tainted by an injury to Matt Seedel as the game had to be delayed for some time.

"It's a blow obviously," said manager Keith Scott.

"It's a clean snap of the fibula, Malcolm (Williams) and I were with him at the hospital on Saturday and saw him Sunday. He's had the operation and is back home now.

"These things happen at the worst possibly time."
