KEITH Scott has bolstered Windsor & Eton with yet more experience and winning mentality in the form of central defender Dave Woozley.
He arrives from Ryman Premier Division high fliers Carshalton Athletic having gained Conference experience with Farnborough and Crawley Town.
The Windsor boss was at the Slough Town v Chesham United match on Saturday night but quickly ruled out making a swoop for one of the players in action there and confirmed that Woozley would be available for action at Stag Meadow on Saturday.
He said: "I came away from the Slough, Chesham game and thought would I take any of these defenders? No way. John Frendo from Chesham was the only player I quite liked, he did well.
"But I have signed a defender, Dave Woozley from Carshalton Athletic," confirmed the Royalists supremo.
"He has won this league we are in before with Farnborough and has a lot of experience.
"He should do okay for us and has come from successful clubs who have been under pressure to win things and that is what we need.
"What we have tried to do here is get together people who are used to winning things and know how to cope with pressure.
"We are in the play-offs now and want to win the league. There is always pressure and expectations and he can deal with it."
AFC Totton cut the gap at the top to 16 points with a midweek triumph over Yate Town and have four games in hand.
"We are where we were five or six weeks ago from our point of view as a football club," commented Scott.
"We are going into March 16 points clear which is excellent but Totton have games in hand and there is a long way to go.
"I would much rather be in our position than Totton's but I believe they can easily string together five or six wins in a row and they have still got to play us so it is close if that happens."
A crunch time is approaching for the Royalists and their next four league games could not be much harder as they host third place Paulton Rovers on Saturday and then Gosport Borough on Tuesday night who despite being in poor form boast one of the top players in the league in striker Justin Bennett.
That is followed up by a trip to high flying Bridgwater Town and then play-off Cirencester Town visit Stag Meadow.
"They (Paulton and Gosport) are two tough games but they are at home," said Scott. "This is why the league is by no means over yet.
"I've looked at Totton's fixtures over the next four games and fully expect them to get maximum points.
"The most important thing is we concentrate on one game at a time and not look too far ahead. If we start getting ahead of ourselves we will slip up.
"It will be very, very easy for me to say that in the next period if we get 'X' amount of points we are looking good but it is easily possible for Totton to catch us.
"With every point we get on the board we are getting closer to the league.
"If we take nine or 10 points from the next four games and Totton get 12 then they have made up ground on us but we are just concentrating on Paulton on Saturday at the moment."
