Scott hungry for action

Keith Scott doesn't want any complacency.

KEITH Scott expects a tough test against a footballing side should their encounter with Hungerford Town go ahead on Saturday.

Stag Meadow is due to host the clash following last weekend's white out but the Royalists have been more fortunate than most as they were able to play on Boxing Day and New Year's Day, picking up six points in the process against Bedfont Green and Uxbridge.

Hungerford gave Windsor a scare in their previous encounter before a strong second half showing from the visitors saw them triumph 3-0 at Bulpit Lane and they have been boosted by the probable return of marksman Ian Concannon to the club before the weekend and fellow striker Jamie Green has signed to give them more of a cutting edge.

Scott admitted: "I felt that they (Hungerford) were a good footballing side and they were probably the best side in the first half when we played them at their place earlier in the season.

"We are in a situation now where every team we play wants to be the first team to beat us and that won't be any different with Hungerford.

"We will have to match them in every department then we should be alright.

"I'm expecting nothing different from them, they will play their passing football because that is their management's philosophy and it will be a good game.

"What we do at Windsor is we respect our opposition, you cannot be complacent against anyone otherwise you will get beaten.

"We haven't missed as many games as other teams so we have an advantage there and we just want to keep playing and try to put points on the board."

However, doubts remain as to whether the fixture will go ahead following more snow in the week.

"There is snow on the pitch but it's a question of how quickly it goes and the state of the pitch underneath," remarked Scott.

"We will train tonight (Tuesday) and Thursday as if it's going to be on. We have to prepare that it will go ahead.

"It's not the preparation of the players but the training that is the most difficult thing at the moment, in terms of the players and their thought patterns are as if all games are going to go ahead."
