ONCE Windsor & Eton warmed up on New Year's Day they outclassed Uxbridge as they cantered to a 5-0 victory at Stag Meadow.
The hosts were slow to start with but after a scorching strike from Jake Parsons they moved through the gears and Michael Chennells claimed a brace with Gavin Smith and Steve Butler also on target.
Manager Keith Scott said: "If you look at the last game against Bedfont (Green) and this one, it took us 15/20 minutes to get into our stride but Christmas is a difficult time, it really is.
"With the weather it is difficult to train and players mind's are focused around the festive period so the most important thing is to make sure you come through unscathed and I thought the two games we had were difficult games for different reasons.
"So to come through with six points, score seven goals and not concede - I'm delighted."
See Friday's Observer for full report and pictures from the match that sent Windsor 11 points clear.
