A MOUTHWATERING prospect is in store at Stag Meadow on Saturday as leaders Windsor & Eton host second placed AFC Totton.

Having both been beaten in the play-offs last season, the duo had been tipped to battle it out for the title this year and they are not disappointing either as they currently occupy the top two slots.

The Royalists are yet to taste defeat in the league so far this campaign, while Totton have only lost once and trail the leaders by just three points with two games in hand.

"It's a great game, I'm really looking forward to it," remarked manager Keith Scott.

"The players are looking forward to it too. It's between two good sides who, having lost in the play-off semi and final to Didcot (Town) last year, are being tipped to win it. Totton and ourselves are seen as title favourites but I don't buy into that.

"There's quite a few teams like Paulton (Rovers) and Gosport (Borough) who can make a dent in that.

"I'm expecting quite a big crowd. They are a well supported club and they are obviously on a fantastic run. I think it's going to be a great game, I really do.

"This is what football is all about at any level."

Scott has called upon the home crowd to help his side out in the clash of the Southern League Division One South & West titans, he said: "All we need is the crowd really.

"The fans that come down every week have been absolutely fantastic, but if I'm a local football follower and am wondering where to go this weekend I would want to come to this one. First versus second and possibly a title shootout."

Windsor will be without Adam Dickens who has tweaked knee ligaments and is likely to be out for another couple of weeks, but apart from that they are in good shape.

Scott added: "I have a side in my mind but whatever side we put out I expect the players to deliver. That's the beauty of the squad we have at the moment."
