AN IMPRESSIVE display from the Slough Jets saw them triumph 6-3 over Milton Keynes Lightning on Saturday at the Hangar.

For the opening 40 minutes of the game nothing could separate the teams as they got to 3-3 exchanging goals. Slough opened the scoring through Peter Jasik with a powerplay goal at 2.06 but Milton Keynes' first powerplay was also their first goal when Lucas Zatopek netted at 10.11.

Dan Davies tipped the home team back ahead at 15.37 but within a minute it was level again when Monir Kalgoum scored.

The second period was played out the same as the first as Slough got ahead with Joe Greener scoring at 29.18 but Adam Carr levelled the game with Lightning's third at 33.00 and no further scoring saw the teams head to the second interval at 3-3.

The third period saw the Jets step up a gear and after 10 scoreless minutes Paddy Ward broke the deadlock at 50.55. When captain Blaz Emersic scored at 53.48 it edged Slough closer to victory and Milton Keynes decided to pull their netminder in the final minute but Jasik completed the move to score into the empty net.

However, they suffered a penalty shootout defeat at Sheffield Scimitars when the two sides could not be separated after a 1-1 draw on Sunday.
