AFTER a Jekyll and Hyde weekend it does not get any easier for the Slough Jets as they host local rivals Guildford Flames on Saturday.

A trip to Manchester Phoenix on Sunday follows the massive home match with the big spending Flames.

Last weekend they beat Manchester Phoenix but suffered a disappointing defeat to Peterborough - the Phantoms first win in 10 attempts so far this season.

Head coach Pete Russell remarked: "It's not easy again but we will see what happens.

"We will have a go and give it our best. Sometimes we have to learn to sit in there but we are a new team and we are learning all the time."

Slough currently lie fifth following a decent start to the campaign which sees them well in touch with leaders Milton Keynes Lightning - who they have already beaten - but the side is still gelling having been assembled in the summer.

Russell was quick to point out how well they are doing, saying: "We are two points behind Steve Moria's Basingstoke (the ex-Jets head coach), three points off Guildford, who have the biggest budget in the league, and three points off Manchester who have the second biggest budget in the league.

"We would like three points more but everybody makes mistakes, you are just trying to find the right balance at this stage."
