THE Slough Jets have added two talented youngsters to theird squad for next season in the form of Ciaran Long and Billy Phillips.

Long, 18, is a junior internatonal forward and 16-year-old Phillips is a junior international defenceman.

Head coach Pete Russell commented: 'Every team needs a mix of youth and experience and I aim to achieve this in Slough. I know that in capturing Ciaran and Billy, we have two of the top young prospects in the UK.

'I know Ciaran very well from my time in Swindon and he has also been on my National Team. He is a very talented young player with a good eye for the goal and great hands to go with it. I first worked with him when he was 15 and had him skating with the Wildcats straightaway as I could see that he had something.'

He added: 'The next player I am happy to have captured is Billy Phillips from the Romford Raiders. Billy is the best defenceman in the country in his age group and really came on last year, vastly helped by the fantastic experience he got whilst playing for Romford in the EPL (English Premier League).

'I will have two more strong additions to introduce at the end of the week and now that most of the team is now signed I am so looking forward to getting going.'

On joining the Jets, Long remarked: 'I was really happy when Pete called and asked me to join the Jets this season as they are looking like a top team this year. I"ve played for Pete before at Swindon and also the GB under-20s and he always gets the best out of me - I"m sure he will do the same again this year.'
