MAIDENHEAD Rugby Club launched themselves to the top of South West One East on Saturday with a stunning 32-20 win at High Wycombe.

Trailing 20-13 at half-time tries from Tony Marawa, Jamie Townsend and Scott Harris in the second period ensured a superb comeback victory.

Elsewhere, Slough received a huge boost in their fight against relegation on Saturday with a thumping 64-20 win against Marlborough.

Newly promoted Slough have found life tough in Southern Counties North this season but victory over the division's basement boys at Upton Court Park keeps their slender chances of survival alive.

Windsor, on the other hand, reignited their title challenge with a 36-7 all-Berkshire derby win against Tadley at Home Park to move within six points of leaders Beaconsfield.

Drifters extraordinary Berks, Bucks & Oxon Premier season continued with a 34-14 victory over third placed Chipping Norton at One Pin Lane.

The division's pace setters have won all 11 of their games thus far but are only two points clear of second placed Thatcham.

Phoenix, however, slipped four points adrift of safety after a crushing 31-7 defeat at Swindon College Old Boys.

The Taplow based sides battle to avoid the drop has been made more difficult by Princess Risborough's narrow win against Gosford All Blacks.
