WINDSOR Rugby Football Club's Peter Eccles will swap green fields for tarmac next April as he attempts to run the London Marathon in support of Sue Ryder Hospice Charity.
Eccles, 52, who has coached the minis and juniors at Windsor and still plays for the 4ths and Veterans side, is hoping to raise £3000 for the event - his first full marathon.
After completing the Windsor Half Marathon in support of Help for Heroes, Eccles, is hoping to raise more money for Sue Ryder, who looked after his mother before she died earlier this year.
Eccles has had two major lung operations in recent years but is planning a strict training regime to prepare him for the marathon.
