WINDSOR head coach Paul Britton is targeting the run-up to Christmas as crucial in the Southern Counties North promotion push.
The Home Park side are currently fourth, five points adrift of unbeaten league leaders Witney and three behind Amersham & Chiltern as well as Grove.
They do not play on Saturday but are back in action on November 28 with a trip to struggling Swindon before they travel to Witney and then host Amersham & Chiltern with lowly Beaconsfield their last fixture before Christmas so it is an important time for Windsor.
"We've had some disappointments in terms of results but what we've got to do is keep going with the approach that each week will be an opportunity for us," explained Britton.
"I said to you at the start of the season at Christmas we will know if we are going to be amongst it. We've got Swindon, Witney, Amersham and we will need to take points there if we are going to be in the fight.
"It's going to be a good month or so. Hopefully the weather is going to calm down so we can play the kind of rugby we want to play although we proved on Saturday we can play in difficult conditions."
Windsor secured an excellent 34-5 victory at home to Bicester in terrible conditions which the head coach was very happy with, he commented: "Given the conditions I was more than satisfied with the performance. What the scoreline doesn't show was that we were held up five times over the try line - we could have been into the 50s.
"I approached the fixture with the thought that we would have to win ugly but as it turned out we were able to put some good passages of play together. For those committed spectators that came out of the warmth of the bar we gave them something that was worth watching."
Windsor 2s also won on Saturday, 20-19 at second place Marlow 2s to move four points clear at the top of Berks, Bucks & Oxon Premier A.
Britton added: "The signs are good, the development team are now unbeaten which means they are on the long road towards taking the title but they will have to keep their concentration.
"We've got guys returning from injury which will make it more difficult for me in terms of selection but that's going to be good for the development team.
"It's good to have (club captain) Ed Bell involved again with his first game of the season on Saturday so things are moving along nicely.
"We just need to make sure we get the results from the next three games then we can be a bit more ambitious after that.
"We are not halfway through the season yet, we are trying to focus on what we are doing and improve each week, so long may that continue. If we can secure results over the next three games we will be in an interesting position."
