TALENTED Richard Eccles who left Windsor Boys School last summer has been re-selected for England Men's Touch Rugby team.

Eccles finished his colts rugby eduation at Windsor Rugby Club in April and has just completed his first year at Exeter University where he gained a first XV place in the Freshers rugby team and also represented the university at sevens rugby.

He underwent a series of England trials earlier this year to compete for re-selection to the national touch rugby squad which he first joined as a 17-year-old last January and went on to be part of the winning England Men's team at the European Championships, beating Wales in the final held in Paris in July.

Eccles will now represent England in the Home Nations Championship taking place in Glasgow tomorrow (Saturday) where England face stiff opposition from Wales, in particular, along with Scotland who will be keen to compete hard on their home turf.

Touch rugby is growing in popularity in the UK with participation increasing at school and club level and the England team are building towards next year's European Championships and the World Cup in 2011 in which Eccles hopes to be involved.
