SIR Henry Cecil declared "It is important for racing to have champions" as he prepares Frankel for the feature Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday.
The champion miler will bid to extend his unbeaten run to nine during the world-class finale for British racing while the legendary handler also hopes to land a third consecutive Champion Stakes with Twice Over.
However the Warren House stars will face serious competition from the likes of Excelebration, Immortal Verse, Nathaniel and So You Think at the Berkshire track.
"There is no such thing as a 'good thing' but I'm very happy with him," Cecil said of Frankel.
"He's still an improving horse. Hopefully it will be a nicely run race and he'll do what we expect.
"Its important for racing to have real champions. Sea The Stars, Arkle, Mill Reef and Desert Orchid - you don't have to be an enthusiast to have heard of them."
