WINDSOR FC sailed to a seventh consecutive Combined Counties Premier Division victory on Saturday to stay within six points of leaders and defending champions Guildford City.

First-half goals from Andrew Fagan and Michael Chennells kept the fledgling club in cruise control during the 2-0 win against struggling Farnham Town at Stag Meadow.

And their only real threat of dropping points came when the floodlights temporarily failed causing referee Collins to delay the second-half in mid-flight for approximately 10 minutes.

In truth, Keith Scott's men should have wrapped the game up before half-time when Ryan O'Toole struck the post facing an empty net and Chennells rattled the crossbar of a Farnham goal that was living somewhat of a charmed life.

Fagan made his Windsor FC debut against the Town when the sides last met in November and made an immediate impact again when rising highest at the back post to head home Chris Ellis' long throw inside the opening two minutes.

Farnham goalkeeper Adlam Ajuna took just enough pace of Chennells' low drive for it to be cleared off the line by Matt Wheeler soon after.

But the visitor's keeper could do nothing to prevent O'Toole's effort in the 12th minute after the division's leading scorer was played through by Ellis. However his deflected effort cannoned agonisingly back off the post.

Windsor continued to pressurise the Farnham goal with a series of corner kicks soon after with Ellis seeing an effort cleared off the line and Chennells smashing a powerful strike against the bar from inside the box.

Town had to wait 16 minutes for their first attempt on goal when full-back Ben Williams fired wide of Rob Bullivant's right hand post.

The hosts eventually doubled their advantage in the 26th minute when Chennells bundled home Ben Porter's cross from the right for his eighth goal since making a sensational return to Stag Meadow.

The only downside of Windsor's win came on 30 minutes when the influential Porter limped out of the contest feeling his right hamstring.

Ajuna kept any hope Farnham had of salvaging a point from the game alive when twice denying O'Toole before the break. Firstly, saving the former Uxbridge forward's 30-yard free-kick and then getting down quickly to smother an effort from inside the six-yard box.

Windsor started the second-half in the same intensity they had dominated the first with Fagan having a header cleared off the line and Ajuna denying Jake Parsons.

But with less than 15 minutes remaining Collins brought a temporary halt to the one-sided contest as Windsor were unable to turn the floodlights on with the natural daylight starting to fade.

However, the game resumed soon after with Ellis striking the post after a smart turn inside the box.

There was even time late on for Windsor to be denied what looked a clear penalty when Ajuna sent Kyle Anthony tumbling inside the box.

Windsor switch from league to cup action on Monday night when they welcome Newport Pagnell Town to Stag Meadow for a Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy quarter-final (7:45pm).

Scott's team then revert back to league action on Saturday with a trip to fifth-placed Hanworth Villa (3pm) who recorded a comfortable 7-0 win at Badshot Lea this weekend.

Windsor: Bullivant, Fagan, R Parsons (c), Tilbury, Ellis, Anthony, J Parsons, Chandiram, Chennells, O'Toole, Porter (Romeo). Subs not used: Moore, Ashe, Lazarczuk. Booked: J Parsons. Att: 278
