MAIDENHEAD and Windsor maintained their title challenges with wins against Swanage & Wareham and Aylesbury on Saturday.
Ricky Khan's Maidenhead backed up last weekend's narrow victory over high-flying Salisbury with a 22-17 win at Bestwell Road while Paul Britton's Windsor followed their derby day success at Slough with a 30-7 win over Aylesbury at Home Park.
The win keeps Maidenhead fifth in South West One East with 36 points, eight behind leaders Coney Hill who they welcome to Braywick Park on December 10.
After six consecutive wins Windsor sit fourth in Southern Counties North with 25 points, just five behind pace setters Beaconsfield.
Whereas, a run of five straight defeats keeps Slough second bottom of the division and five points adrift of safety.
Paul Rendall's men lost 32-5 at Alchester on Saturday, a marginal improvement on the 34-0 loss to rivals Windsor last weekend.
Elsewhere, Drifters opened up a three point lead after their Berks, Bucks & Oxon Premier top of the table clash while Phoenix were held a draw in the relegation 'six-pointer' with Hungerford.
Both Drifters and Thatcham went into the clash at One Pin Lane with 100% records to their name but the home side's 23-18 win gives them a narrow lead at the top of the table approaching the season's half way mark.
However, the 12-12 draw at Institute Road does little to help Phoenix's battle to avoid the drop as they remain two points from safety.
