SLOUGH Town have rivals Burnham FC to thank as unlikely allies in maintaining their position at the top of Southern Division One Central on Saturday.
Burnham twice came from behind to earn a point from a 3-3 draw at St. Neots Town while The Rebels were denied victory by a 95th minute penalty in their bad-blooded clash with AFC Hayes at Holloways Park.
Loanee Will Hendry put Burnham ahead at St. Neots before Ben Mackey netted either side of half time to put the hosts 2-1 in front.
Dan Willment restored parity before Mackey completed his hat-trick to give St. Neots a 3-2 lead in the 87th minute.
Goals were going in at both ends at New Rowley Park but the deadlock had yet to be broken at Slough despite new signing, ex-Reading forward Lloyd Owusu, making his debut after rejoining the club where he started.
Lewis Driver, who has starred since his arrival from Holyport earlier in the season, produced an equalising goal seven minutes from time to earn Burnham a much deserved point against the division's pre-season favourites.
And just as the action began to fade in Cambridgeshire things began to heat up at a rain-soaked Holloways Park.
Substitute Ben Abbey thought he had won the game for Steve Bateman's side with an 89th minute effort.
But referee Daniel Leach awarded Hayes an injury time penalty that Dominic Rhone converted to snatch a point for the visitors.
The late leveller denied Rebels a five point lead at the top of Division One and sparked a mass brawl between Slough supporters and players of both clubs.
Leache's report will now being taking into consideration by league authorities who will then decide whether to take further action.
Martin Stone's Burnham could leap up to 12th on Tuesday evening with victory at Chertsey Town.
The gap between Beaconsfield SYCOB and the pack chasing the play-off positions narrowed after Byron Walton's men suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat at fifth placed Biggleswade Town.
Goals from Ashley Fuller, Stuart Lochhead and Brett Donnelly put Biggleswade three ahead at half time before Paul Barber's 69th minute strike completed the rout.
Elsewhere, Windsor FC slipped 11 points behind Combined Counties Premier Division leaders Guildford City after a 2-1 defeat at Chessington & Hook United.

The visitors thought they had done enough to earn a point until Nick White fired past Windsor goalkeeper Rob Bullivant in the 93rd minute to secure a much needed win for second from bottom Chessington.
Keith Scott's side had the chance to close the gap immediately when they welcomed Wembley to Stag Meadow on Monday night.
Finally, Holyport lost their all-Berkshire Hellenic Premier Division derby with Binfield 2-1.
Binfield went ahead through a Ian Davies effort but Lee Jerrum equalised soon after.
However. Davies' second of the match after the break seperated the two sides at Summerleaze.
