THE temperature at Stag Meadow will be increased over the coming weeks as Windsor FC bid to re-energise their relentless pursuit of the Combined Counties Premier Division title.

The fledgling club have not been involved in competitive action since January 28 due to freezing conditions that forced the league schedule to be wiped out for a fortnight.

But conditions have improved and the snow has cleared, allowing Keith Scott's men to continue in their quest to dethrone defending champions Guildford City, starting with Saturday's trip to struggling Chessington & Hook United (3pm).

Windsor have already enjoyed victories over The Blues in the league (3-0) and the first round of the Premier Challenge Cup (3-1), but Scott is wary of the threat the side currently second from bottom pose.

"They've got a new manager now and it'll be a battle, but we look forward to it," the Windsor supremo told the Observer.

Windsor then welcome Wembley to Stag Meadow on Monday night (7:45pm), a fixture originally scheduled for last weekend, the club's first of seven home fixtures before the end of March.

"Obviously last weekend was always not going to happen," Scott continued.

"I wanted to get the game rearranged for as soon as possible and spoke to their manager who wanted to play it this Monday, which was great."

The Windsor boss also nominated the visit of Wembley as a potential date for Jake Parsons to make his return from injury.

"I'm not sure about Jake [playing against Chessington & Hook]," Scott went on.

"I'll speak to the physio and take it from there but he may miss Saturday in order to be ready and fit for Monday."

Windsor currently sit second in the Combined Premier table, eight points behind Guildford with two games in hand.

And they can make a real impact on the title race over the coming weeks with eight of their next nine league fixtures against sides in the bottom half of the table.

Scott's men also have their very first semi-final to look forward to, a trip to Abingdon Town in the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy on Tuesday, February 28 (7:45pm).

The winners will face Berkshire- based Holyport or Binfield, both of the Hellenic Premier Division, in the competition's final on Tuesday, April 17.

WINDSOR FC have signed striker Leon Phelan from fellow Combined Counties Premier Division outfit Hanworth Villa.

Phelan has scored 14 goals for Hanworth this season and will join up with the likes of Michael Chennells, Yashwa Romeo and the division's top goalscorer Ryan O'Toole at Stag Meadow.
