Weekend round-up: Injury time leveller denies Windsor at Hanworth Villa

SUPERSTITIOUS people will tell you bad things always come in threes and that can certainly be said of football on Saturday as Slough Town, Beaconsfield SYCOB and Windsor FC's promotion ambitions all suffered untimely and unwelcome blows.

Windsor FC slipped to an almost insurmountable 11 points behind Combined Counties Premier Division leaders Guildford City after being held to a 2-2 draw at Hanworth Villa.

Windsor took a controversial lead after just 13 minutes when Yashwa Romeo slotted home Terry Buss' parried save from two-yards despite appearing to be in an off-side position.

And Keith Scott's men added a second in even more controversial circumstances after half an hour when Jake Parsons fired home from 30-yards when Villa keeper Buss was attending team mate Adam Baigent who was concussed during the build-up.

Hanworth pulled one back six minutes into the second period when Michael Oaks' deflected header beat Rob Bullivant before Laurie Shennan steered home an injury time equaliser to rescue a point for the hosts and end Windsor's seven match winning run.

Holyport FC's impressive five match unbeaten run in the Hellenic Premier Division was ended by a heavy 5-0 defeat at second-placed Oxford City Nomads.

Elsewhere, Slough's defeat at Aylesbury handed the initiative in race for the Southern Division One title race to St. Neots Town after the Saints beat play-off contenders Beaconsfield at Holloways Park to move within three points of top spot with two games in hand.

Tyrone Marsh beat Slough goalkeeper James Warrington with a long range effort to open the scoring at Haywood Way in the 37th minute.

The Rebels' chances of getting back into the contest improved after the break when Jack Seaton was sent off for bringing down Danny Burnell when the striker was through on goal.

And Steve Bateman's men were unfortunate not to draw level when Alex Brown's header crashed against the crossbar and a Sean Sonner effort bounced off the bar and post.

But in the sixth minute of injury time Marsh sealed a crucial three points for the struggling Moles and condemn Slough to just their fourth defeat of the campaign.

Therefore, St. Neots take all the momentum into this weekend's fixtures after a 2-0 win at Beaconsfield.

Rams' keeper Michael Power-Simpson gifted St. Neots the lead after just 33 seconds when scuffing his clearance straight into the path of Ben Mackey who coolly slotted home.

The visitor's could have doubled their lead before half-time when Lewis Hillard's effort rebound off the post and Stefan Moore rattled the bar with a volley from just six-yards three minutes after the re-start.

The Saints eventually sealed the points two minutes into stoppage time when Pearson Mwanyongo sidestepped his marker to fire past an un-sighted Power-Simpson.

Finally, Burnham extended their unbeaten run to four with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Daventry Town at The Gore.

Dan Willment fired The Blues into a 16th minute lead when unleashing a powerful effort past Joe Melling from just inside the box.

Harry Pritchard was unfortunate not to make it two before the break when his cross-come-shot rebound off the angle of post and crossbar.

But in-form Lewis Driver did double the advantage on the hour mark when scooping the ball in from a tight angle before Lee Togwall added a third four minutes from time with a well placed effort.
