WINDSOR FC made it seven wins on the bounce in the Combined Counties Premier Division on Saturday with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Farnham Town at Stag Meadow.
Andrew Fagan broke the deadlock in the second minute when rising highest at the back post to head home Chris Ellis' long throw.
Michael Chennells was unfortunate not to double the advantage when seeing efforts strike the post and rattle the crossbar but got the goal he deserved midway through the half when bundling home Ben Porter's cross from the right.
There was a second-half delay of about 10 minutes due to floodlight failure but when play resumed under the artificial light Windsor continued to dominate with Ellis striking the best opportunity for a third goal against the post late on.
The victory extends the fledgling club's unbeaten run to 13 although they remain six points behind leaders and defending champions Guildford City who recorded an impressive 6-0 win against Horley Town at the Spectrum Leisure Centre.
Keith Scott's side look to book themselves a place in the last four of the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy on Monday night when they welcomed Newport Pagnell Town, last season's winners, to Stag Meadow.
HOLYPORT FC's trip to Henley Town in the Hellenic Premier Division fell afoul of the first severe frost of the season.
The Villagers were also in Senior Trophy quarter-finals action on Tuesday with an away tie at Wantage Town.
Elsewhere, SLOUGH TOWN continued to pile pressure on the chasing pack in Southern Division One Central by extending their lead to nine points on Saturday with a 2-0 win against Uxbridge.
Last week Rebels boss Steve Bateman told the Observer that he would rather have points on the board instead of games in hand and his side responded to pull further clear with goals in each half at Holloways Park from strikers Danny Burnell and Sean Sonner.
Burnell bagged his 17th of the season from the penalty spot midway through the opening period after he had been pushed to the ground inside the box by Rob Fitzgerald.
And Sonner secured Slough's fifth win in six matches with a powerful effort from the edge of the area on the hour mark.
The race to the title is looking set to be a duel between the Rebels and pre-season favourites St. Neots Town who moved into second place with a 3-0 home win over Woodford United.
St. Neots will close the gap at the top to six points on Tuesday night with victory at high-flying Uxbridge while Slough turn their attention to a Berks & Bucks quarter-finals tie at Chesham United of the Southern Premier Division.
BURNHAM extended their recent unbeaten record against Ashford Town (Mx) to three with a 1-1 draw at The Robert Parker Stadium.
The two sides produced the same the result in their last league meeting at The Gore in August before the Blues kicked-off a successful FA Cup run with a 2-1 preliminary round win over the Tangerines in September.
But the two sides could not be separated on Saturday after Kofi Lockhart-Adam's 18th minute equaliser cancelled out Will Hendry's fourth minute free-kick.
Burnham also turn their attention to the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup on Tuesday and a quarter-final tie at Division One South & West title chasers Hungerford Town.
Finally, BEACONSFIELD SYCOB's trip to basement boys Marlow was postponed due to a frozen pitch at Oak Tree Road.
