Keith Scott aiming high as Windsor FC win five

MANAGER Keith Scott insists Windsor FC will go very close to winning the Combined Counties Premier Division title this season if they can finish above defending champions Guildford City.
Windsor extended their winning streak to five matches with comfortable victories over Colliers Wood United and Raynes Park Vale this week and Scott declared his side must expect tough games against Mole Valley SCR on Saturday and Camberley Town on Monday night.
Star striker Ryan O'Toole has rocketed Windsor up to fifth in the table with a second-half double against The Woods and sealed the points against Raynes Park in midweek with a third goal taking his tally for the season to 15, half of his summer target.
A delighted Scott told The Observer: "Any manager will tell you that if you're winning games by scoring goals and keeping clean sheets then you're going to be happy and I'm really pleased for the players.
"I don't like to look at the league table because you can sometimes get carried away.
"I said at the start of the season that Guildford City set the benchmark and if you can finish above them you are going to go very close to winning the league."
Speaking about last weekend's win Scott went on: "It was a game of two halves against Colliers Wood, we didn't play very well in the first half.
"Rob Bullivant saved a penalty which was fantastic, I didn't think it was a penalty, and they could have nicked a goal but we created two or three good chances as well.
"I changed things around a bit in the second-half and we ran out deserved winners in the end."
The ex-Windsor & Eton boss continued: "We were 3-0 up inside half an hour on Tuesday.
"In the second-half, particularly the first 10-15 minutes, we were a bit sloppy and allowed them back into the game with too much possession. Fortunately we defended well enough and overall we did very well.
"We just tend to switch off for 10-15 minutes at a time during a game and we need to stop doing that because you can't give teams opportunities to get back into games."
Windsor welcome basement side Mole Valley to Stag Meadow on Saturday, (3pm ko) and high-flyers Camberley on Monday night, (7.45pm ko, free entry into Stag Meadow).
"Mole Valley are at the bottom and Camberley Town are up there but it's very important to go out in the right frame of mind and expect tough games," Scott added.
"Although they're at different ends of the table it doesn't change our preparation or thought process."
