BURNHAM manager Jamie Jarvis confirmed this week that Will Dunlop and Adrian Sear have pledged their futures to the club despite interest from higher division clubs in the area.

Commanding centre-back Dunlop had been linked with a move to both Slough and Windsor & Eton, with the Royalists announcing that the defender had agreed to return to Stag Meadow.

Central midfielder Sear, who joined last season, has also committed himself to the club following an impressive first campaign at the Blues.

Boss Jarvis said: "This is my fourth year in management and the players want to come and play for me despite Windsor announcing they had signed Will and Hemel Hempstead trying to sign Adrian.

"I do things the right way, I coach them and treat them right rather than offering them big money like other clubs."

The pair will be joined by Dan Willment who spent last season on the sidelines with a long-term injury.

"I am very pleased with Dan," commented Jarvis. "I want him to be fit for the season but I will not rush him and have told him not to rush himself."

However, Jarvis is still keen to strengthen his squad before the new campaign but is remaining tight-lipped about any potential targets.

He said: "I still need a centre-forward and a left-sided player.

"I'm not going to spend big money and I'm not a Dave Mudge and telling people who these players are."

Jarvis' men went down 2-1 at The Gore in Tuesday's pre-season friendly against Wycombe Wanderers but the manager was pleased with his side's performance. "We had a decent run against them and got minutes for 19 or 20 players. Wycombe had a first team centre-back playing and a lot of second-year pros so we did well."
