HAVING agreed to stay at Windsor & Eton for another season, Michael Chennells believes that they can hold their own in the Southern League Premier Division.

The club's star striker is relaxed about his future and is happy to stay at Stag Meadow for another season.

"I've been getting my money from my contract and have received assurances from the chairman (Peter Simpson) that the bonus payments will be made before the start of next season," remarked Chennells.

"I signed a contract last year and had the option to extend for another season next year which I have done and I'm very confident the chairman will honour what he has told us."

The Royalists were crowned Division One South & West champions last year after an impressive season and if the squad stay together, Chennells sees no reason why they cannot continue to enjoy success under new manager Dave Mudge.

"I think we can definitely hold our own at the level above as we proved in cup matches last year against Evesham and Farnborough," he stated.

"Hopefully most of the boys will stay on and we can build on what we achieved last year because we had a great bunch of lads that did excellently.

"I haven't worked with Dave (Mudge) before but know him from around the club and we've had several chats.

"I hope we can push on next year, I guess the main aim is to stay up and then you look at mid-table, followed up by a play-off position if you do well. However, it depends on clubs budgets, we shall see although I think we can do well and will cope with the level above.

"My aim is always to improve but at the next level maybe 20 goals rather than the 31 I got last year is more realistic."
