THE New Windsor Youth football tournament proved to be a big hit - with the host team enjoying unprecedented success.

New Windsor won the cup competitions at under-10, 11s, 12s, 13s and 14s in the six-a-side event at Hanover Way which attracted 130 teams aged from six to 16.

"That's a record number of teams for a single weekend," explained organiser and club secretary Tony Oorloff, "but both days ran smoothly and we even booked the right weather."

New Windsor Phoenix u15s won the Plate Competition after beating West Drayton 1-0 in the final courtesy of goal from Max Kinsler.

The squad of Mariuz Mastowski, Marcos Pezzolato, Ollie Carroll, Callum Harling, Max Kinsler, Jack Stacey and Luke Theobold finished strongly by winning their last four games without conceding a goal.
