FORMER Slough Town boss and Didcot Town assistant Derek Sweetman has taken over at Holyport.
Having managed the Rebels and been assistant at Didcot in the Southern League Premier Division last season, Sweetman wanted to get back to more local football.
He said: "Ultimately the goal is to help the young players already here develop and the club want promotion."
Port have continued to improve over the past few years and finished third in Hellenic League Division One this season, just missing out on promotion to the Premier.
Sweetman added: "They've got some very good young players here and hopefully I can bring in some experience as well.
"The first aim is promotion and then maybe the title next year depending on how it goes.
"The players I am working with are players that play football because they love it and enjoy it, not because of the money so I'm looking forward to it."
