WINDSOR and Eton will face Farnborough Town in the second round of qualifying of the FA Cup after a brace from Andrew Fagan helped them overcome Thamesmead 2-1 at Bayliss Avenue last Saturday.

The visitors had to come from behind in this encounter, however, after a loose back-pass from Jake Parsons allowed home striker Rikki Cable to sneak in and round Royalists keeper Rob Bullivant to open the scoring. But the visitors sought to make immediate amends as Marcus Richardson found Andy Shed with a clever flick, who was only denied an equaliser by an excellent save from Steve Northwood.

Windsor continued to press and found a route back into the game on the stroke of half-time: Parsons redeemed himself for his earlier error by locating striker Andrew Fagan with a fine cross, who timed his leap perfectly to head past Northwood.

The hosts were unfortunate not to restore their lead in the second half when Cable crashed an effort against the upright, and Fagan rose to break Thamesmead's hearts when he met Bruce Wilson's cross and headed the ball beyond Northwood's helpless reach on the hour mark.

Windsor and Eton can now look forward to a mouth-watering home tie against Farnborough Town on September 26th with realistic hopes of making it to the next qualifying round.
