MAIDENHEAD United saw their three-match unbeaten run in the National League come to an end after a 2-0 defeat at Wrexham on Saturday.

A goal from Chris Holroyd gave Wrexham the lead before the half-time interval at the Racecourse Ground.

United suffered a blow on the hour mark when midfielder Ryan Upward was shown a straight red card, before James Jennings secured the points for the home side on 75 minutes.

The defeat means Maidenhead are without a win in seven matches in all competitions but remain in 14th position in the league table.

United return to York Road for the visit of Maidstone United this Saturday (3pm), before a Berks & Bucks Senior Cup second round tie at home to Chesham United next Tuesday (7.45pm).

Burnham have recorded their first home win in the Hellenic Premier Division this season after a 1-0 victory over Lydney Town on Saturday.

The Blues left it late at The Gore but a goal from Calvin Morgan in the 85th minute secured the points.

The win means Burnham remain third from bottom in the league table ahead of a visit from Tuffley Rovers on Saturday (3pm).

Virginia Water have moved up to second position in Hellenic Division One East following their 4-2 win against leaders Bicester Town.
