MAIDENHEAD United will celebrate winning the National League South title with an open-top bus parade through the town this Saturday.

The bus will leave York Road at 2.30pm for a planned route around the town. It will return to the ground at 5pm for The Magpies’ end of season awards ceremony. There will be free admission for all into York Road.

See Friday’s Observer for details on the planned route.

MAIDENHEAD United will spend £160,000 on York Road ready for the new season in the National League.

The work is expected to include more toilets and food facilities, plus a faster flow around the ground.

Most of the work is to be funded by a grant from the Football Foundation.

SLOUGH Town have announced that five players will leave the club as the squad is re-shaped for next season.

Paul Stonehouse, Lewis Putman, Gurkan Gokmen and Callum Bunting will not be retained, while Shaun Rowley has returned to Shrewsbury Town at the end of his loan period.

THE non-league pyramid has been projected for the 2017/18 season and includes several moves for local clubs.

Maidenhead United will be promoted into the National League as champions of National League South, while Slough Town remain in the Southern Premier Division.

Windsor will move across to the Hellenic Premier from the Combined Counties League and Burnham relegated to Hellenic Division One East, where they will meet promoted Chalvey Sports.
