DATCHET Village 3s have lifted the Roy Lester Memorial Junior Trophy this season after a 3-1 win against Langley Village last Thursday.

For Datchet it was a second cup final of the year and they were hoping to have a more positive outcome than their previous appearance only a few weeks ago, suffering defeat in the League Shield final to Spartan Red Kites.

Langley, making their first cup final appearance, started the stronger side, but Datchet began to take control of the game and were awarded a penalty not long before half-time, which was put away by Jack Boddy.

Datchet continued to be on top in the second-half and went further ahead, firstly through Jack Sanderson and then again via a superb Boddy finish.

Langley did manage to pull a goal back from a corner late on. Centre back Oliver Murton rose majestically in the box to head home.

Langley put a lot of pressure on the Datchet defence in the final few minutes, but they defended soundly and won only the second cup final in the club’s history.

Datchet Village 2s have reached the final of the Tony Blay Memorial Trophy following a 4-2 win away at AFC Phoenix (Plough) on Sunday.

The side were hoping to emulate the first and third teams by reaching a cup final this season.

Jack Sanderson scored twice before Phoenix pulled a goal back from the penalty spot. Mike Doe restored the two-goal advantage before Jem Hussein secured the win.
