WINDSOR Reserves put in a great team performance to record their fifth win of the season with a 3-1 victory away at Slough Heating Laurencians on Saturday.

In their penultimate East Berks’ Premier Division fixture of the season, Windsor took the lead midway through the first-half. Nadir Shafi slipped in striker Cheyenne Cripps who used his shin to divert the ball past the hapless Slough keeper.

Into the second-half and Slough found an equalising goal after sloppy play in the middle of the park from Windsor allowed the hosts to break. Keeper Chan Sidhu saved the first effort but the ball rebound back off a Heating player and into the back of the net.

The visitors made tactical changed and the rewards were instant as a great individual goal from Shafi settled the game. A cross-field pass from Cripps picked out the man-of-the-match who turned his marker inside out before flashing the ball past the Slough stopper.

Windsor added a third goal late on in the game thanks to a 30-yard free-kick by Owen Richardson.

Maidenhead Town Reserves notched up a 16th league win of the season as they overcame promotion rivals Signcraft with a 2-1 victory at Braywick Park.

The home side took the lead as Matt Atasoy ventured into the opposition penalty area and laid the ball to Chip Duncan. The striker did not have much space to work with but managed to place a shot into the top left-hand corner of the net.

A lack of an equaliser seemed to frustrate Signcraft and they were lucky not to be reduced to 10-men when a two-footed tackle on Atasoy was only punished with a yellow card – the Maidenhead star lucky to walk away from the challenge.

The hosts were unfortunate not to add to the lead in the second-half when a superb Mark Maclean effort rebounded off the bar.

Town looked comfortable enough but a long Signcraft throw-in caused chaos in the defence and allowed their midfielder to nod the ball home past keeper Paul Davis.

With only a few minutes remaining it looked liked both sides would have to settle for the draw, but the returning Anthony Lane latched onto a pass from captain Matt Clarke and managed to steer the ball past the on-rushing keeper to become the hero of the piece.
