MAIDENHEAD Town Reserves have preserved their unbeaten league record with an injury-time equaliser in a 3-3 draw against Falcons on Saturday.

A last-gasp goal rescued a point for Maidenhead at Braywick Park though their lead at the top of the East Berks Division Three table has been cut to seven points.

Langley Galaxy, in second place, won 4-2 at Eton Wick Reserves to reduce the deficit and have two games in hand on the pace setters.

Maidenhead edged the first-half and took the lead through the prolific Chip Duncan, who latched onto a Matt Croxford pass to lob the on-rushing keeper.

However, a mix-up in the home team’s defence just before the break allowed a Falcons striker to knock the ball past the defence and smash home an equaliser.

In the second-half, Maidenhead’s frustrations with an inconsistent referee led to Rob Boden being dismissed for a second yellow card.

The hosts re-grouped though and George Elsworth was on-hand to grab his first goal for the club after a brief goal-mouth scramble.

It looked like Maidenhead would be able to hold out for the win but a rash-challenge in the area gave Falcons the chance to bring the scores level once again. Their striker made no mistake from the spot.

Both sides were pushing for the victory when the away team broke away and a quality counter-attacking move was well finished to put them ahead at 3-2.

There was to be another twist as the home team were turned-down a penalty of their own when a Croxford free-kick was handled in the area, but the referee chose to punish the Falcons defender for encroachment rather than award the spot-kick.

Moments later Croxford was rewarded when another of his crosses was deemed to have struck a Falcons players arm and the referee pointed to the spot.

Matt Clements stepped forward to take the kick and, although his initial effort was saved, he was on-hand to prod home the rebound.

Poor finishing cost Windsor Reserves in a narrow 3-2 home defeat to an ever-improving Langley side in the Premier Division on Saturday.

A moment of poor judgement by full-back Majid Yousaf saw him handle the ball inside the box and Langley win a penalty. The visitors made no mistake with the spot-kick, slotting the ball past stand-in keeper Chan Sidhu.

Langley doubled the advantage as again Windsor failed to clear and got caught with the ball in defence. A striker made no mistake to put his side two goals ahead.

The home team changed to a 4-4-2 system in the second-half and its impact was instant as they won a penalty thanks to a driving run from man-of-the-match Nabil Douhi.

He was brought down inside the box before stepping up and making no mistake to send the keeper the wrong way from the spot.

Windsor looked to have control of the game but defensive frailties again came back to haunt them as they twice failed to clear from a corner and Langley got a third goal.

It was a fortunate effort as a cross-come-shot avoided everyone and ended up in the back of the net.

But, the home team kept on going and pulled a goal back with a fine finish from the edge of the box by Owen Richardson – a superb effort from the midfielder.
