Adam Weston insists Marlow clash is biggest game in years

'A MASSIVE, massive game' is how Windsor captain Adam Weston described this weekend's top-of-the-table clash against Marlow in the Thames Valley League Division 2A.
"It's the biggest at the club for a few years. We're 25 points behind so we need to win and win well to stand any chance of overtaking them," said Weston.
The Aussie skipper has identified his opponent's main strength, noting that: "They beat us comprehensively earlier in the season, with three good spinners. This time we'll back our spinners to be as good if not better than them."
Last weekend the club defeated North Maidenhead, scoring 185-9, but Weston lamented that: "Our batting hasn't been very strong. We were in a bit of trouble but Adam Allen-Turner did well to make 30 runs. He's in good form having made 70 the week before.
"At one stage they were 46-7 and it could have been an early finish but credit to them. We made hard work of it but got the result.
"We've been blooding a number of young guys, bringing them in to perform but I always thought we'd be there or thereabouts," Weston continued.
"I saw Marlow as our main rivals from the start. They have some great experienced players like Lee Atkinson and Damien McNally. They have some good players and their only weakness is a lack of seam bowlers."
Personally, the 31-year-old is enjoying his role as captain: "It's been good, I enjoy the on-field stuff, not so much the off-field stuff like filling out forms but hopefully I'll be carrying on next year."
