SLOUGH CC put themselves right back in contention for the Home Counties Division Two West tittle after a convincing 184-run win against leaders Burnham at the Memorial Ground on Saturday.

Captain Zaheer Sher produced 6-24 to help bowl out Burnham for just 73 and maintain their chances of winning the league and promotion to Division One.

Sufian Nunir's 89 and an unbeaten 43 from Tauqeer Hussain helped the visitors set a target of 257 before Aurangzeb Chaudhrey (22) was the only Burnham batsman to put up any resistance against the dominant bowling attack of Sher and Zulfiqar Butt (4-18).

Just 21 points separate the two sides with four week's of the season remaining in. Burnham visit Aston Rowant this weekend while Slough have another local derby against Farnham Royal.

Ollie Clayson's Farnham Royal continued to close the gap on third placed Harefield with a 14-run win against Reading at Church Road, while Farnham Common extended their unbeaten run to three with a home draw against Ruislip.

Aiden and Glynn Woon-Sam made 74 and 58 respectively as Ruislip posted a huge target of 303-7 off 51 overs before Lochab's 61 and an unbeaten 45 from captain Sandeep Bassi guided the hosts to 249-6 and eight points.

However, the result drops the club back into the bottom two of Division 4A and they face a difficult trip to league leaders British Airways 2nd's this weekend.

Windsor closed the gap on Division 2A leaders Marlow by five points after a 144-run win against Hayes at The Pavilion.

The visitors posted 228-7 before bowling Hayes out for just 84. Adam Weston's team welcome North Maidenhead on Saturday with the gap at the top of the league down to 25 points.

Datchet's batting came back to haunt them again when they could only set Finchampstead 2nd's a target of 185 during a six wicket defeat.

Luke Shepard hit 57 for Datchet before Dan Marles' 54 not out saw the hosts a victory that lifts them away from the relegation positions.

Finally, Slough 2nd's improved their chances of finishing third in division 2A with a six-wicket victory against Basingstoke & North. Hants 2nd's at Upton Court Road thanks to an unbeaten 89 from captain Gheyas Khan.
