DATCHET kept up the pressure on title-contenders Fleet with a one-wicket victory over Slough 2nds in Division 2a.
Datchet won the toss and inserted Slough on home turf and it looked to have been a good decision as they bowled out the opposition for 185.
Gareth Abramson took a five-wicket haul for 52 as Datchet took a crucial 20 points from the game.
Datchet got over the line with a big six taking them up to Slough’s target in style and finishing on 191-9.
In what was a closely-fought encounter, Slough’s Ali Ahmed took 5-41.
Nick Tilley’s side now face a
crucial double header against two of the top three sides in the division starting with top of the table Fleet on Saturday, who continued their excellent form with a five-wicket win over Basingstoke & NH 2nds.
They then face an Eversley side who have struggled in recent weeks and who were held to a draw by bottom side Beaconsfield.
