WES Nichols has demanded Windsor 'pull their fingers out and be ready to play' ahead of a must-win clash against Thatcham Town at Home Park on Saturday.

After a three wicket defeat at Basingstoke & North Hants last weekend Windsor slipped into the bottom two of Thames Valley Division One.

Thatcham sit just two points above Windsor after a nine wicket loss to Amersham at Brownsfield.

Despite Wokingham's win against bottom of the table Maidenhead & Bray, there is only 21 points between the relegation candidates, emphasising the importance of a positive result.

Thatcham scrapped home by one wicket when the two sides last met in early June.

Nichols said: "We have put ourselves in this position. After last week, we need to put some partnerships together. Me and Westo (Adam Weston) had a partnership of 60 but we were in a sorry state. We have to pull our fingers out and be ready to play.

"I know what we can do and I know that we can play good cricket."

Elsewhere, Maidenhead & Bray host league leaders Burnham and Wokingham travel to second placed side Amersham.
